Antique 16 German Bisque JDK 237 Hilda Character Baby Doll by Kestner c. Antique 16″ German Bisque JDK 237 “Hilda Character Baby Doll by Kestner c. 1915 has her original plaster pate, and blond wig. Such a sweet example of one of the most popular baby dolls by Kestner – the 237/1070 mold known as Hilda. This Hilda baby doll has dark chocolate brown glass sleep eyes, open mouth with teeth and tremble tongue, upper and lower painted eyelashes, brushstroke eyebrows, and accented nostrils. She has her original antique blond mohair wig and plaster pate. This doll has no damage and no repairs. The back of the head is marked: “made in Germany 12 JDK 237 Ges gesch N 1070″. These numbers are widely known as Hilda numbers with or without the name Hilda in the markings. Her distinctive Kestner baby body has the original finish and cryer which no longer cries. The darling doll is wearing a dear little cotton dress with panels of insertion lace and lots of lacy trim around the bodice. Her bonnet is threaded with silky ribbon. She has an antique diaper held by antique saftey pins and little white crocheted booties on her feet. A total cutie pie from a smoke free environment and is clean.
